We have placed ourselves in designing and manufacturing fashion clothing more than 30 years, while living in this information explosion modern society, material condition of the increasingly rich, more and more people start thinking to have a simple natural life, this has challenge us where our designs should go.
Clothing should be liberating, we don’t need layer after layer for our daily life, and no heavy luggage when we travel around.“Less is more” has become to our designing concept, just as the other people’s awareness to their life style. “Less is more” design means where to generate a timeless quality in products but without the giving up on the performance.

When we’re designing a new garment, the key question for us is always: how does this perform?
It’s most about functionality – better temperature regulation, mobility, sweat management, and fit. Great design can be as simple as making sure seams don’t sit on top of each other when several garments are layered together, with BOOROOLA clothing, you definitely no need to layer yourself.
BOOROOLAdesign is understated and elegant, and always has an element of surprise – interior stitching, or a print on a pocket. BOOROOLA roots are in nature, and our designers constantly use New Zealand’s wild landscape as a source of inspiration.
BOOROOLA material, the super-fine diameter of the fiber; the strength; the filament; all these details combine to create the unique character of a weave, a garment, a look. In merino, the finer the fiber, the more delicate the fabric.
The 16.5micron super-fine merino we have adapted to Booroola products, it ismore warmer, lighter and drier, and its natural protein fiber is auto-bacteriostatic carrier, the knit gives the skin a luxury touch feel, furthermore, it’s easy care machine washable.
BOOROOLA merino wool works as protection against the scorching summers and freezing winters of New Zealand’s rugged Southern Alps mountain range. So instead of trying to design a man-made fiber, we adapted merino wool as a natural gift into a lightweight system of all-season garments for people.
- In summer, the merino’s thin, light, super-breathable coat keeps you cool in temperatures that hit +35 °C (+95 °F)
- In winter, the merino grows an extra layer of wool over his base coat as protection against temperatures that plummet to -20 °C (-4 °F)
